I am missing half of my dwg when I try to plot. I have checked all the obvious stuff and am stumped... layers on and plotting, pen assign etc. What else could it be? I even put a dim that is showing up in preview and one that is not on the same parameters in properties and it still won't plot the one. Could anyone please help?
Mavrick,
I'd check to see if those missing plot entities are on the Defpoints layer by mistake. I have seen a few glitches in our plots from time to time, where a few lines get missed. But if we plot the drawing again the lines show up. That's probably something to do with our plotter and not with AutoCAD.
Nope not it... just checked he has layers set up. If I draw anything now on any layer it will not show up even on the layers that have some things showing up on the print?? Strange
OK I was able to copy then paste as a block into a new dwg and then explode the block and everything printed and is editable. But I still want to understand what happened so it doesn't happen again.
Anyone?
Thanks
Mavrick,
I tried a few things but don't have an answer for you. Maybe it's one of those things like the way AutoCAD relates to layer 0 and Defpoints, or some combination of a layer off and another frozen or something? If you're allowed to post your original drawing I'll take a look at it.
I tried to load your drawing in AutoCAD 2005 and 2006 and I get an error, "Drawing file is not valid". Could you do a saveas to an AutoCAD 2004 drawing format?
This is very interesting. I had a friend do a saveas to AutoCAD 2004 format and we listed the entities that are not plotting. They seem to be the same as the entities that are plotting. We turned on layer Defpoints to see if that made a difference, but the plot was still the same. I've attached the AutoCAD 2004 drawing.
