Hi,
You can turn it off by typing "vtenable" on the command line and entering 0. The valid range is from 0 to 7. You can check in AutoCAD help for the various setting for "vtenable". A value of 7 turns it on for pan/zoom, rotation, & scripts. Another associated variable to check out is "vtduration" which controls the speed of the animated zoom feature.
